About Shinnecock Hills Golf Club

Shinnecock Hills Golf Club is one of the founding five clubs of the USGA (1894) and has hosted five U.S. Opens. The traditional links-style course on Long Island's East End features open, windswept terrain, fescue rough, and firm, fast bentgrass greens. The 2018 U.S. Open saw scores balloon dramatically when pin positions became unfairly difficult Sunday.

Betting Intelligence

Links-style play rewards players with ground game creativity and wind shot management. SG: Putting on firm, fast bentgrass greens favors elite putters. Players with links tournament experience (The Open Championship, Scottish events) have demonstrated statistical edge. Fescue rough is extremely penal — driving accuracy over distance is critical. Wind from Long Island Sound is constant and variable.
