How to Use the Golf Bet Calculator
Golf betting offers three main bet types that this calculator supports: each-way bets, parlays, and odds conversion.
Each-Way Calculator
Enter your per-way stake (note: total outlay is 2× this amount), the player's win odds in American format (e.g. +2500), select the place terms (1/4 or 1/5), and choose how many places are paid. The calculator shows your win return, place return, and total profit whether your player wins or finishes in the places.
Parlay Calculator
Add up to 8 legs, entering each player's odds in American format. The calculator combines all legs into a single multiplied payout. Useful for grouping two or three top-10 favorites into a value parlay, or combining head-to-head picks.
Odds Converter
Convert between American (+2500), decimal (26.00), and fractional (25/1) formats instantly. Also shows implied probability so you can immediately see how the market prices a player's chances.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is an each-way bet in golf?
An each-way bet is two bets in one: a win bet and a place bet, each for the same stake. For example, a $10 each-way bet costs $20 total. If your player wins, you collect on both the win and place portions. If they finish in the places (usually top 5 or top 8 for majors), you collect the place portion only. Place odds are typically 1/4 or 1/5 of the win odds.
What do 1/4 odds and 1/5 odds mean?
These are the place terms — the fraction of win odds paid for the place part of your each-way bet. With 1/4 odds and a player at +2500 (26.00 decimal), the place odds are (26-1) × 0.25 + 1 = 7.25 decimal. With 1/5 odds they'd be (26-1) × 0.20 + 1 = 6.00 decimal. FanDuel and DraftKings typically offer 1/4 odds, 5 places for major championships.
How does a parlay (accumulator) work?
A parlay combines multiple bets into one. All legs must win for the parlay to pay out. The combined odds multiply together — two +200 bets combined become approximately +800. The upside is a much larger payout from a small stake; the downside is that one losing leg loses the entire parlay.
How do I convert American odds to decimal?
For positive odds (+200): divide by 100 and add 1. So +200 = 3.00 decimal. For negative odds (-110): divide 100 by the absolute value and add 1. So -110 = 100/110 + 1 = 1.91 decimal. Use the Odds Converter tab above for instant conversion.
What is implied probability?
Implied probability is the percentage chance implied by the odds. For +2500 odds (26.00 decimal): 1/26 = 3.85%. The sportsbook builds in a margin (overround), so implied probabilities across all outcomes in a market add up to more than 100%. Finding players whose actual win probability exceeds the implied probability is how sharp bettors find value.
